Hi, I'm Juri.
What a hot night today!!!! It disturbs my sleep:( I don't like summer because I am sensitive to heat!
By the way, have you ever thought about summer time system?? Of course, you have heard it at least one.Summer time system is the part of year when we advance our clocks by one hour. More than 70 countries introduce it. Also in Japan, some coporations introduce it. This change helps to keep the hours of daylight coodinated with the time that people are active. The first time I heard the idea, I thought it was a very nice idea because it helped us save electricity! To my surprise, however, about 70% people disagree in Japan. Why?The reason is a lot....
>We can't expect summer time system to save electricity because a peak of energy's consumption is same as summer time.
>Overtime work just keeps on increasing.
>Japanese sunsets are earlier than fotreign countries',
so it doesn't go with Japanese lifestyle.
>It is hard for some people in delicate health to change their lifestyle.
What do you think?
How about your country, Ms.MacGregor? Please tell me:)

Hi.
ReplyDeleteToday is very hot too.
And I don't like hot so I like to be at home in summer. :-)
I agree this system because we must save electricity this summer.
It is very hard to change our life, but we need to do.
Mari
Hi.
ReplyDeleteI live near Kumagaya, so my hometown is also too hot:-(
I agree this system, too.
I think it will be good for the environment.
Saho
Hi!
ReplyDeleteToday is too hot to walk!
I agree this system!
We have to save electricity this summer,
so I think it is good opportunity for us to save electricity.
Yuri:)
Daylight savings time (summer time) has been going on since the time of WWI in Canada.
ReplyDeleteHere is why it started in Canada and around the world:
Because the sun began to shine when most people were still asleep in the morning, it was reasoned that light could be better used during the day. The solution was to push the clocks ahead one hour in springtime, forcing people to wake an hour earlier. They would therefore expend less energy trying to light their homes in the evening.
When the days started getting shorter in the fall and people awoke to increasing darkness, the clocks were turned back an hour to get more light in the morning.
We have an expression to help us remember how to move the clocks:
Spring ahead, fall back.
This year, Canadians "sprang ahead" at 2 a.m.March 13 and will "fall back" at 2 a.m. on November 16. The change always occurs on the weekend (Saturday night) so people have their Sunday off to adjust.
The reasons for not adopting daylight savings time in Japan are a bit ridiculous. I think people should try it and see how nice it is!
Ms. MacGregor
I know summer time system, because in my academic presentation's class my class mate told me. I thought this idea is nice! I agree this system. We should save electricity!
ReplyDeleteSaki
I agree to this system too.
ReplyDeleteThe early bird catches the worm ;)

I also agree the system, but Japanese peaple won't change our clocks. I think it's better to change the time to start and finish working. It will be more easier to adopt.
ReplyDeleteErika
I agree this system. We can save electricity and have longer free time! It seems good for everyone :)
